Description A famous Hollywood director is feeling dissatisfied with his life, the issues in it including the disintegration of his marriage which will probably end with an expensive divorce and loss of custody of his young daughter. To get away from his life if only for a short period, he drives into the Mojave Desert. The getaway doesn't turn out the way he expects, the major turning point being when a sociopathic drifter stumbles into his camp. That encounter ends up with both men seemingly wanting to kill the other. What the director is unaware of is that the drifter, who didn't know who he was during their encounter, ends up finding out who he is and about his life, which makes him an easier target once the director returns to Los Angeles. The drifter seemingly wants to torture the director by threats of harm against the director's friends, associates and/or loved ones, including his current girlfriend, a French actress, regardless of if the threats are real or just used as that psychological torture. Their game of cat and mouse takes a further twist when an innocent third party is accidentally killed, each man who wants to frame the other in that death. Ultimately, each man sees a poetic ending to their standoff, the only difference in their views being who will be the one left standing at the end.

I am a big fan of David Cronenberg's work and this is a very strong film. Not that I am going to give away any of the plot, but the film is very strong in every respect. The photography, acting, script, all make this a very powerful film. I liked the cinematography in some ways. The black and white photography with the use of color, was very effective. The use of the soundtrack in the film was also very effective. However, I would have liked to see a little more color added in the film. It is a dark film with the use of color. I was disappointed that there were no color backdrops in the film. There were a few scenes that did not use color as much as I would have liked. However, I do think the film was very strong in every aspect. I liked the performances of the cast. The acting was very good. I especially liked the performances of William Hurt and Jason Patric. William Hurt was excellent in this film and I have seen him in many other films. He is an amazing actor and I will continue to see him in his films. Jason Patric was good, but not great. He had the same problem as William Hurt. The same problem as William Hurt. They were not great, but they did not need to be great. They did the best they could with the roles they were given. All of the other performances were good. There were only two minor performances I did not like. They were both minor performances that did not detract from the film. Overall, this is a very good film. It is a strong film that I will recommend to all of my friends and family. This is not a film that you should skip because it is a great film. It is a film that is very strong in every way and I will recommend this film to everyone I know. This is a very strong film.
