The whole film is a funny satire on the plight of the British working class and how they can get so very wrong. It is mostly about class struggle and exploitation, and there are some quite funny moments. It also has a lot of social commentary. There are a few scenes that are deliberately over the top, such as when Emma visits a police station and finds that the only other person in there is a severely drunk porter who just happens to have a whole lot of pornography in his possession. The police officer on duty is unable to do anything about it, because he is too busy being drunk himself. These are the moments that you can see and feel that this is a funny film. I think the biggest problem with the film is that it is too predictable and predictable does not make a good film. It is also a bit long. At two hours and forty-five minutes, it feels like it could have been shorter. However, I don't think the film could have been any longer. It is as funny as it is sad and it is also very interesting and insightful. I think it would have been better if it had been longer. I also think that it is a bit long. It does not work as a comedy because it is too long and repetitive and it does not have the punch to be a dark satire. However, the film is very funny. It is a film that is a lot better than I expected. It is very well made and there is a lot of attention to detail. The cast is a good mix of British actors and international actors. I think it is good to see actors like Kate Beckinsale, David Morrissey and Matthew Macfadyen in this type of film. I do not think they were the best choice for the roles, but they were all very good in their roles. I also think that it is very difficult to do a comedy on the BBC. The producers would have had a difficult time in getting this film on the air. I think that the production values were good and the script was excellent. I think that the director, Nick Hornby, did a good job in making this film very funny. I think that he made a very good satire on the plight of the British working class. I think that this is a very funny film and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in British cinema. I think that it is not very good, but it is still very good and worth watching.

Having recently watched the BBC documentary A Day in the Life of a Broadway Melody, I felt compelled to check out the DVD. The documentary provided a decent insight into the background of the most famous musical of the last century, which featured five Broadway actresses, including Emma Thompson, Aaliyah, Rosario Dawson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Liza Minnelli, as well as the entire cast of the musical, as well as the director of the show. I was pleased to see that the DVD contained several extras, including a couple of short films, some behind the scenes footage and a variety of other interviews with the cast and crew. As you can tell from my summary, I was somewhat disappointed. The film did indeed provide an interesting glimpse into the Broadway world of the time, and did manage to get a few of the actors and actresses on the phone to give interviews, but the film as a whole was somewhat dry and lifeless. However, there are a few positives that make the film worth watching. First, there are some fantastic interviews with actresses such as Olivia Hussey and Cheryl Hines, who provide insightful and interesting views on the making of the musical. I'm still not entirely sure why the musical has been considered so controversial, but perhaps it's due to the fact that some people didn't get the humour in it or the wittiness of the characters, or perhaps the fact that it is essentially a bunch of people singing in their underwear, but either way, I think that the performances were great. Second, there is the great film commentary from Olivia, and a couple of other people. They are, for the most part, excellent, and provide some very interesting insight into the making of the musical, with Olivia giving a terrific insight into the people and the work that went into the production, and other people like Hilary Corrigan, Jon Stewart and Tim Howard providing entertaining and insightful comments. Finally, there is the book, which is really excellent, and contains interviews with both the cast and the director, and some interesting material on Broadway itself. It's nice to have a DVD with extras that don't require a lot of patience or concentration, and I certainly enjoyed this film.
