Histoire d'une création is an impressive documentary film about French composer Jean-Jacques-Paul Francois 'Jacques' Lelouch. It's narrated by the musician himself, and features archive footage, interviews and film clips. The film shows how Francois was treated by his family and how his music was influenced by people he knew in the village. Some of the film footage is actually from the 1970s, but the present day footage is pretty realistic and well done. Jacques was born in France in 1832. In his youth he had been a revolutionary, he helped the French people at the time, and he was involved with the rising of the French Revolution. In 1837, he left Paris and moved to St. Helena, where he lived for a time. He died in St. Helena in 1865. He was a leader of the Lelouch School of Music. François was very well respected and loved in his village and his colleagues believed that he had the greatest work of his life in him. It is amazing how he was able to help people and convince people of the importance of music. He was a kind and gentle man who loved his wife and his family. He was the inspiration of the village of St. Helena. The film shows the family that Francois left behind, and his family who survived him. It is sad to see the extent of the destruction that his family endured, and how he was ignored and ostracized by the villagers. I was really impressed by the film and the archive footage. I really felt like I was part of the family and I really enjoyed it. It was really a great experience watching it.
