In the movie, The Only One, we hear from members of the cast of the hit Broadway musical and we see the trailer of the movie. In this way we are able to see the movie for what it is. This is not a musical. This is a documentary of what the Broadway cast went through and how they pulled through in the end. It is not a movie about the movie and its songs. The documentary is about the cast and how they came together. The movie was written by Richard Castellano and edited by James Scott. The movie is an ensemble piece, where each actor/actress is given their time and the audience is given the chance to see the different parts they played. The movie is divided into chapters that relate to one another, but they also seem to have been grouped together because of the budget they had. I would have liked to have seen more of the musical numbers. Some parts were hard to understand, especially the song at the end. The audience seemed to be left behind and did not get a chance to see the scenes that were presented. There were some things that seemed off-putting, such as the screaming that occurs in the dark theater. I think that there should have been more of that. I was also disappointed that there were no comments from the cast members about the movie. It seemed as if they had no input into the movie. As a result, I would have liked to have seen more from the actors themselves about the movie and the controversy surrounding the movie. This is a movie that everyone should see, especially the Broadway cast.

I must say, I wasn't expecting this documentary to be so profound and life-changing. I was prepared for some on-the-nose and funny discussions of characters, and people talking about their own issues. I thought, oh no, it's going to be a painful documentary, with clips from the various characters' movies, talking about their problems, and so on. But this documentary surprised me by turning out to be so life-changing. I was glad to see the people in the film talk about their issues, and how their problems affected their lives. The characters in this film are all real people, but they also represent the problems they face. They talk about how difficult it was to find their happiness. How hard it was to find someone who loved them, and how hard it was to keep their relationship together. All of the issues the characters have are real, and I think that it's the film's point of view that makes it so impactful. Not only do the characters' issues represent the problems that they face, but it also shows how they dealt with them, and how they solved their problems. It's like watching a documentary on an everyday occurrence, and that's why I thought it was so powerful. If you want to find out more about what it's like to be single, to find someone who loves you, and how it's difficult to keep your relationship together, and how you can get help if you have an issue, see this film. It's a powerful documentary, and one that will change your perspective on relationships. Overall, a very powerful and life-changing documentary. 8/10
