Description In Portland, the amateurish photographer Sean Falco works with his best friend Derek Sandoval as valet at a fancy restaurant. His girlfriend Riley Seabrook studies in a university and he is estranged of his stepfather. Sean and Derek are also smalltime burglars, stealing the houses of the costumers while they are eating in the restaurant. One day, the obnoxious client Cale Erendreich arrives at the restaurant driving a Maserati and Sean drives his car back to his house using the computer and Derek watches Cale in the restaurant. While snooping around the house, Sean finds a locked room and when he opens the door, he stumbles upon a woman tied to a chair with chains and gagged. He unsuccessfully tries to release her but he is forced to return to the restaurant with the Maserati. Sean decides to call the police, but Cale lures the police officers and turns Sean's life upside-down.

My first introduction to David Fincher was 'Fight Club'. Since then I have been an avid fan of his films, but have never seen a film quite like 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo'. This film is the most intelligent, entertaining, and original film I have ever seen. The cast is amazing, and the entire cast really acts out their parts. Even Jennifer Lawrence and Daniel Craig bring their A-game to the table. In this film we meet our protagonist, Emma (Jude Law), a woman who was raped and has been plagued by flashbacks for the past seven years. She is now a freelance reporter who travels the world covering crime and political corruption, and has her sights set on uncovering the truth behind the murder of her friend. The majority of the film is based around Emma's quest to find the truth behind her friend's murder. The story is so well thought out, and I found myself constantly re-winding the DVD after I had watched it. What I love the most about the story is that it's based off of a novel, and is very original. I know that this film is considered a crime film, but I don't see why it is. In this film the audience is presented with a complicated story, and is forced to think on a deeper level than most films. The characters are complex, and the cast has really grown on me. All of the actors bring an incredible amount of emotion to their roles, and this film is definitely one of my favorite films of the year. The film's visuals are brilliant. The locations are beautiful, and the scenery is truly haunting. I really enjoyed the lighting and the fact that the film doesn't focus on the action. It is about the actors, and I think this film has an exceptional cast, and I think that it really shows what a talented cast it is. The film is very well made, and the film itself is very interesting. This film has a very interesting plot, and it's unique. I loved this film, and I recommend it to anyone who loves a good crime/thriller, a great cast, and a great story. 9/10.
