A teenage baseball player from Philadelphia named Cal Ruggles (Joe Pesci) is the beneficiary of a baseball scholarship fund. His athletic dreams are dashed when his father is killed in a car accident, leaving him in the care of his sister and stepfather, who goes by the nickname "Daddy Day Care". He's subjected to all the family's responsibilities, such as feeding his brother, cleaning the house, and taking care of the family's pet hamster named Charlie (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). One day, Charlie is spotted by a future big league pitcher named Dale Murphy (Ben Stiller), who plays for the Philadelphia Phillies. Realizing that his father's death will mean more than anything, Cal and his brother want to be a part of their father's baseball dream, despite the financial consequences. The lead roles are played by the great Ben Stiller and Ben Affleck, with the latter being a real kid on a way to being a star. The lead actors are really good, and the story is actually very interesting. It's hard to believe that this movie was made in 1980, as the movie looks dated. However, I still enjoyed the movie, and I found it entertaining. The acting is very good, as well. Ben Stiller and Ben Affleck both give great performances. They're both funny and convincing. Ben Stiller is a truly brilliant comedian, and he definitely gives the best performance in this movie. He's really believable as the mature adult who is the younger brother, but doesn't realize his own strength and greatness. Ben Affleck, on the other hand, is also a great actor. He's really good in the role of the younger brother, who struggles to be his father's role, yet is a true hero. He plays the role with great sincerity, and he truly shows his skill. This movie is very entertaining, and I recommend it to fans of the first two movies. It is definitely one of the best movies about baseball in the 80's. It's worth seeing, especially for the actors who played the roles of the brothers, or the father, or the father's friend. I give this movie a 7/10.

I am happy to say I am going to watch this movie a second time. I think the audience had a lot of expectations to go along with, as this was a huge release and was marketed very well. I was not disappointed. The movie is very well made, the cast is brilliant, and it is a true family movie. For me it was very entertaining and so was the audience. I do have some issues with the use of the same shot over and over, but it was done in a good way. A large part of the movie was made up of flashbacks, and while the flashbacks were not "breath taking", they were enjoyable and fascinating. I think the cast should have been given a bigger spotlight in this movie. Many of the scenes were left to the camera, and the camera was not allowed to use the same shot over and over. It seemed very rushed and rushed the movie as a whole. Some scenes were very interesting, and some were boring. One example of the latter, was the wedding scene, where we got to see the wedding.but nothing really happened. Then it was like 30 seconds later and the shot was back to the wedding again. Why are we constantly checking our cell phones and never using the home phone? It is an interesting scene, but the camera did not really follow it. There was a lot of unnecessary shots used in the movie, like the kids being sick in bed, the car breaking down, and more. The scenes of the filming of the hockey game were very interesting, and were a great addition to the movie. I am not a hockey fan, but the first time I saw this movie, I was very impressed. I believe this movie was well put together. I thought the costumes and the music were excellent, and the movie was nicely done. I was not disappointed, and I would highly recommend this movie.
