Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was the start of a long and painful period of meandering away from the original novel, when the Potterverse became a bloated mess of overlapping stories. Since then we've seen a slew of other poorly-executed remakes of the Harry Potter books, but this new film remains the most successful yet. Yes, the new Fantastic Beasts franchise has a lot of flaws, but the overarching story has been fully fleshed out, the CGI is gorgeous, the characters are quite well fleshed-out, and the film looks great. While the films have diverged in their own ways, the overall story has remained consistent. While the first film focused on the first five books, this one goes into the next three, and adds the last two. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is a slightly different beast altogether. It is a trilogy, but the bulk of the story is still left out. Instead, the movie has focused on the characters, and we get to know a bit more about them, which leads to some good character development. It's interesting to note that the movie is a bit darker than the book, and the monsters are somewhat more frightening than before. It's not quite as good as the book, but it's definitely better than the first film. I'm not gonna say anything more about the film without spoiling it, so if you haven't seen the film yet, skip to the end and read the book to see what you think. If you have seen the film and want to see more of the characters, you may want to wait for the upcoming sequel, and see if the new film improves on the characters that we know. If you're looking for a fantastic story, this is the film to go see.

I really enjoy watching the Harry Potter movies and I've been anticipating the third installment of the series. And to say I was very disappointed is an understatement. The movies are definitely not the same as the books and this third installment was, in my opinion, just a mediocre film. The casting was bad, the acting was not up to par with the first two movies, and the whole film felt rushed. There are some good things, like the 3D effects and the wizarding world looked beautiful. However, the way the movie was filmed left a lot to be desired. You don't feel like you are part of the world in the first movie and you don't feel like you are in the wizarding world in this one. The film had no real plot. In this one, the main character was boring and there were times where I had to turn away and leave the movie room. The story was boring, the acting was mediocre, and the final battle was very predictable. The CGI was amazing, but that didn't help with the CGI. If the effects didn't look great, they would have been terrible. The film also had some of the biggest errors in the book. Like in the first film, we have a description of why the Death Eaters want to take over the world, but in this film we don't even get a clear explanation. We don't even get a hint that they want to destroy the world. In this movie, I have to wonder if the producers thought it was a good idea to have some of the biggest stars in the world in the film. I have to wonder if the producers of the first two films were in favor of the cast in this one. I don't want to say I hated the film, but I definitely think the film was flawed. I'm not really going to watch this movie again, but if I had to, I wouldn't watch it again.
